There are so many ways to get in touch with Coca-Cola to express your displeasure with the cancellation of TaB.
If you aren’t sure how to get in touch with them–try visiting our resources page. There’s even a fun pink stationery template you can download if you want to mail a letter.
If you have additional ideas or ways to get in touch with Coca-Cola that we should add to the page–contact us.
And, as always–if you hear back from them, we’d love to hear what they tell you!
We want to spread the word about TaB’s discontinuation and try to gain more support from those who maybe didn’t even know it was still available all these years! We have created a flyer that hopefully will grab the attention of these consumers–with the ability to tear off the information or scan the QR code to be taken directly to our website. (If you’re not familiar with QR codes–you just bring up your camera app on your phone and point it at the code, and the website will pop right up.) There’s also a message encouraging them to call Coca-Cola.
Download and print off the flyer here (maybe even several copies?)
And please help us distribute these and post them in places where there is a lot of foot traffic. Does your grocery store have a community bulletin board? What about your local salon, nail salon, car repair shop, airport, bus stop, or other places that have a “waiting area?” Ask them if you can put up a flyer–or if it’s a community board–go ahead and post it!
(P.S. It might also be nice if you pre-cut the little “tabs” at the bottom as well :))
We have tried to take our case directly to Coca-Cola and now it’s time for a different tactic. We want our army of TaB lovers to reach out to a major retailer and a major restaurant.
We want to see if we can find a partner who would support our cause–to have them apply pressure to Coca-Cola.
McDonald’s: If you aren’t aware, Coca-Cola and McDonald’s have a decades-long partnership. Coca-Cola even has a McDonald’s division within their corporate structure—that’s how important it is to their business. To Contact McDonald’s use their General Inquiry Form
Wal-Mart: They are a national retailer, and they have been known to carry exclusive soda brands that benefit Wal-Mart and the Soda producers. Being an exclusive retailer benefits Wal-Mart by getting customers into the store who normally may not shop there—to buy a product that’s not available anywhere else. To Contact Wal-Mart use their Product Request Form. Note: you’ll need to know TaB’s UPC code: 049000001938
Let’s try to convince these companies to bring TaB back into production!
We are targeting an event on August 6th, and will begin to market it on social media soon–but feel free to contact them today as well! RSVP to the event on Facebook so we can get a good count!
As we previously communicated—we collected your TaB stories to create a volume to share with Coca-Cola Executives and key stakeholders that we believe could help influence a better outcome with TaB. We finally wrapped up this effort!
We ended up with a 37 page book that was filled with over 70 of your stories. Those stories were bookended with an introduction by the #SaveTaBSoda Committee and a concluding plea to save our favorite soda. We included the fun photographs you shared with us, along with some statistics from our recent TaB Drinker Market Research survey.
Below are some photographs of what the book looked like.
Each of the books was paired with a personalized letter and shipped off to the (11) recipients with a plea to either contact Coca-Cola executives (for those who aren’t inside Coca-Cola) or to reconsider the potential that TaB has to offer (for those who are within Coca-Cola). All books are timed to be delivered by TODAY, June 4th!!
We believe the stories you shared should make some great reading material for the Coca-Cola executives and stakeholders. Those of you who provided content are helping us tell a compelling story about a brand that just needs a little attention to become a top-selling product again.
We appreciate you following along with us and participating in our events and activities. And we do believe our collective efforts are making a difference.
Stay tuned for additional upcoming events from our committee. We’re all volunteers working on limited time availability—so sometimes we don’t move as quickly as we’d hope to (we can always use additional volunteers to help with planning—reach out here if you can help). We do have some high-level plans for events this summer that we think will drive additional attention to our cause. Subscribe to our blog to stay up-to-date on the latest!
In the meantime, have you called Coca-Cola recently? Let them know you are still upset with this decision (800.GET.COKE).

As you know, we’re here to Save TaB! One of the ideas we’ve been working on is to capture some information from TaB drinkers to help demonstrate to the Coca-Cola Company how viable the product is and how just a little bit of investment in advertising and marketing it would make a world of difference in sales.
About a month ago, we created a “market research survey” for TaB drinkers on social media. And we’re sharing some of the things we learned through that survey here on our blog. And we’re also sharing these facts with the Coca-Cola Company.
In our prior posts, we shared about the net promoter score and other quantitative data. This time we wanted to share some of the qualitative data (in other words–the kind words you had to say) about TaB soda.
Net Promoter Follow Up
When we asked TaB drinkers to rate on a scale of 0-10 on whether they would recommend TaB to a friend or colleague–we asked them why they scored the way they did. Here’s what the promoters (9’s and 10’s) had to say (just a small sample):
The taste is like nothing else.
I have drank tab for 40 years, I can’t live without it
Pretty much everything you could want in a soda
It’s happiness in a can!
I love TaB! Best tasting! TaB is like an old best friend
Tab is the best drink in the world
Unique flavor, love taste, fizz, caffeine, 0 calories
Because…it is the all-time best and most refreshing soft drink!
It’s unique, and so refreshing! A full bodied flavor with none of the cloying sweetness of Diet Coke.
TaB has a great flavor. Tastes like Coca-Cola but with no calories!
I think its something super unique and special and that everyone should try it
My love of TaB and wanting others to love it too
Tab is hands down the best tasting and satisfying diet soft drink!
It is the real and original diet version of Coke
It’s so delicious!
It’s the best soda ever made!
i love the unique taste of TaB and feel like a part of a special group
It’s the nectar of the gods
It tastes sweet with a clean bite
It is the best.

TaB Brand Description
We also asked TaB Drinkers to describe the product in three short words. The word cloud below helps visualize where we saw common responses. The larger the word–the more often it showed up in responses.

Final Question
When we closed out our survey, we wanted to make sure to give an opportunity for submitters to provide any parting thoughts about TaB soda, so we asked “what else do you want to make sure we know about TaB?” Here is a sample of some of the great comments we received (again–that we are sharing with Coca-Cola).
TaB is life!
I will purchase it and go to great lengths to find it. Keeping it available on Amazon is a great option
Please find to rethink how to keep TaB.
It’s more than just a beverage; it’s the bedrock of a lifestyle!
It needs to stay!
I’d love to be able to quit stockpiling – but I can’t.
Please don’t stop making it!!!!
It is the only thing that quenches my thirst
I’ve been drinking it for 40 years. My friends and family do not wish to be around me without TaB!
Love it….only thing I hoarded at the beginning of the pandemic
I’m old please dont take it away
TaB drinkers are loyal customers
My life has been a struggle. TaB is my comfort and peace. Please don’t take that away from me.
TaB is an iconic brand with a wonderful taste…wish Coca Cola would re-invest in TaB and promote it!!!
There is a great demand for it. Listen to the customers!
I am a loyal lifetime TaB drinker known by my friends and family for my love of TaB. It’s part of my identity.
Has been my drink of choice since 1967!
It’s the peace in my day!
I take it with me everywhere!!! It’s my first thing to drink in the morning! I don’t think I can face life’s challenges without TaB!
All the young kids in my family love TaB. They only know about it because of me. If only it was marketed, it would be a much better seller
My primary soft drink since its inception. (I’m 68)
I need it like a surgical patient needs a blood transfusion to survive!
It’s a blend of nostalgia with an almost futuristic taste.
It is currently the#12 best selling soft drinks on Amazon. That should indicate to Coca Cola they should keep making it.
I have drank it for 50 years and there are many like me. It made a 12yr old diabetic girl so happy.
I have been drinking Tab for 45 years and still love it! Nothing even comes close to the taste I love! Please bring it back! I even have the young ones of the family drinking it and they love it!
The people who have been buying TAB all these years-may not be many, but we are dedicated to the product. Please don’t take it away to try some flavor that will be a flash in the pan. It is great for the Coke brand to have us say how long we have been proud to drink a Coke product! I have been drinking it from the start and I am 65 now. People know me as the Tab girl! (Great publicity) Thank you for reading this.
I’m 61 years old and I’ve drank Tab since I was 11. I never drank it because it was a diet drink, I truly loved the taste. I love a carbonated beverage but all other coke and Pepsi products were to sweet for my taste. Tab has a refreshing taste without the sweet overload. My children, grandchildren and great grandchildren have all drank my Tabs and have always loved it and still do. Not to mention no calories and low sodium makes it the perfect choice !!
It’s a definite conversation starter when someone sees my can….
The product needs to be more readily available if you want to sell more of it. However, I will purchase it in ANY FORM and in ANY DISTRIBUTION method made available to me in the future. PLEASE and THANK YOU.
It has a fiercely loyal customer base, as if you didn’t know.
You all already know, it is perfect and nothing will ever come close to replace it.
I’ve been drinking it for 40 years. My friends and family do not wish to be around me without TAB!
All who know me sent condolences that TaB was being discontinued. I am known for drinking TaB
It makes me happy and I don’t want to live without it!
Tastiest diet soft drink ever
I’ve been drinking it for over 45 years
We’d have been buying more of it if more product had been available.
If you make it, we will buy!
My friends gave me the nickname “TaB”
I really hope Tab stays available!!!
Please reconsider keeping TaB in production! Not sure why advertising ever ceased for it, but many of us Tabaholics are confident if it were reinstated, the demand would certainly follow!
I’ve been drinking Tab all my life, we were born the same year. There is no other drink like Tab. With no advertising in 20 years Tab still sells.
TaB is and always will be my first choice of beverages. If Coke stops making TaB, I won’t buy Coke products ever again. It’s just that important to me!
I have seen TaB back in my grocery store over the last 2 months in Florida, I called Coca-Cola to ask if they have changed their mind about bringing it back, but they said no change.
Tab is essential to me. I drink it all day and carry it to bed with me.
45 years of addiction
Best drink ever
I have seen TaB back in my grocery store over the last 2 months in Florida, I called Coca-Cola to ask if they have changed their mind about bringing it back, but they said no change.
It is my drink of choice. I don’t drink coffee and other diet sodas seem flat to me.
Survey Comments
I wish we had some great parting words here–but truly–you all summed things up pretty well in your survey comments! We’re sharing all of this information with Coca-Cola officials and we hope having some data will help our cause.
Thanks for providing your thoughts on the survey and stay tuned for our next activity/event coming soon.
In the meantime, please make sure you are tweeting @CocaColaCo (using #SaveTaBSoda) and calling Coca-Cola at 800.GET.COKE whenever you have the time. Remind them you’re still requesting them to save TaB from the history books.
In March, we created a “market research survey” for TaB drinkers on social media. And now we’re sharing some of the things we learned through that survey here on our blog. And we’re also sharing these facts with the Coca-Cola Company.
This is our third installment.
This time, we’re sharing some information about what TaB drinkers are interested in as it relates to 1) package options, 2) distribution methods, 3) price point, and 4) additional product options.
Package Options
Results from TaB Drinkers Market Research Survey on Social Media, April 2021
It looks like most of us really enjoy the 12-pack, 12-ounce can fridge pack cases we’ve become accustomed to. But it also looks like we’re pretty open to alternatives. In fact, more than half of us would be interested in purchasing TaB syrup and mixing it ourselves. Glass bottles are also a very popular option. Glass reduces waste, which does align with the company’s green initiatives
Distribution Methods
Results from TaB Drinkers Market Research Survey on Social Media, April 2021
If we can’t purchase it in a typical retailer–it looks like the preference is to buy it directly from Coca-Cola on a TaB website, or from our local distributors. But over 82% of us are open to any of these alternative options
Price Point
Results from TaB Drinkers Market Research Survey on Social Media, April 2021
We’re willing to pay WHAT!? In general, it appears that TaB Drinkers mostly believe the $5-7.50 price point (without shipping) is the cost we’d be willing to regularly pay. But there are many (nearly half of respondents) who are willing to pay much more, and a few who would only pay less.
TaB Merchandise
Results from TaB Drinkers Market Research Survey on Social Media, April 2021
And…in addition to purchasing the product itself–many of us are also interested in buying additonal TaB-themed merchandise to complement our favorite soda! TaB, the brand, has a lot of potential to sell additional products!
In Conclusion
Of course we’d all LOVE to have TaB available in our local grocery stores, ON SALE, every week. But in absence of that–we’re looking for any option that is appealing to the Coca-Cola Company so that they will change their mind on the discontinuation!!
We’re trying to help the Coca-Cola Company understand that TaB drinkers are really quite flexible when it comes to purchasing the product. We’re open to various package options and distribution methods. We’re willing to think outside of the box if it means we can continue to purchase TaB.
Stay tuned for our FINAL installment of details from the survey that we’re also sharing with Coca-Cola.
This time, we’re sharing some statistics about how difficult it’s been for TaB drinkers to purchase TaB in the last six months–and also some statistics about what they’ll replace it with when the TaB supply runs out.
We’re trying to help the Coca-Cola Company understand that 1) TaB sales have been artificially low because an extreme lack of supply (for years) has made it difficult for consumers to find it–and this escalated during 2020.
And 2), we want them to understand the idea that “TaB drinkers will just switch to Diet Coke or another Coca-Cola product” is simply false. TaB has a completely different flavor, brand image, and artificial sweetener ingredient–it’s truly one of a kind.
Survey stats tell us that only 4.5% of TaB drinkers will replace their TaB consumption with another Coca-Cola Product. In other words, out of 100 customers, Coca-Cola will lose at least 95 of them without TaB.
Stay tuned for our next installment of details from the survey that we’re also sharing with Coca-Cola.
We’ll start sharing some of the things we learned through that survey here on our blog. And we’re also sharing these facts with the Coca-Cola Company.
The first item is the Net Promoter Score. It’s based around a single question we asked on the survey: “How likely is it that you would recommend TaB Soda to a friend or colleague?”
On a scale of 0-10, those who score the question as a 9 or 10 count as “promoters.” Those who score 0-6 are detractors–and count against the score. Those who score as 7 or 8 are passive.
The rating system goes from -100 to +100. The general consensus is that a score above 30 is good, and product or company having a Net Promoter Score of 72 or above is in the top quartile–in other words–is among the best of the best products or companies in the consumer goods industry–it’s a fantastic score.
Guess what TaB received? +97!
How’s that for a good score? We hope Coca-Cola will take note. We’ll share some additional statistics from our survey here in the coming days and weeks.
While we’re working on more information about our upcoming events, we’ve got something that we could use some help with right now. It might make for a quick weekend activity while you’re out running errands.
We received a lot of great submissions–stories and photographs from all of you. And for that, we are very thankful!
We’ll be working over the next few weeks to compile the information and get the books published and delivered to Coca-Cola key stock holders and executives.
We’ll share a preview of the book with you all when it’s ready 🙂
