It’s Wednesday!

Write Letter Wednesday

It’s that time again–every Wednesday, we encourage all of you to write letters to Coca-Cola to reconsider their decision. And this Wednesday is no different.

If you are able to, please write a letter to Coca-Cola today.

If you don’t want to send a paper/snail mail letter–send them an e-mail.

The important thing is to write them and express your concern about eliminating TaB.

Committee Update

In addition, our Committee is meeting 2x each week to discuss a variety of items to continue advancing our cause. Some of what we’ve most recently discussed include:

  • Fundraising–please share our GoFundMe. We are trying to raise funds for advertising our cause.
  • Planning for 2021(January)–we are targeting a single big event on January 13th. We are in the very early stages of planning–but it’s aligned with “National Make Your Dreams Come True Day,” so we have some ideas on how to use the theme to our advantage 🙂
  • If you have other ideas on how to reach more people or advance our cause, please contact us.

TaB Tuesday is Here!

As we communicated in a prior post, our calendar of events was created to organize our #SaveTaB campaign. Today is “TaB Tuesday!”

It helps us keep our tweets and Facebook posts interesting and engaging. Every Tuesday, we ask you to create tweets and posts that showcase TaB. Think of it like a TaB show and tell. Use photos of your TaB stockpile (if you’re so lucky), TaB memorabilia, TaB clothing/decorations, or just a fun picture that represents TaB Tuesday to you.

As always, to maximize the impact, make sure your posts are public and are directly on the TheCocaColaCo Facebook, and @mention @CocaColaCo on twitter. And always use the hashtag #SaveTaB.

If you don’t have twitter and/or need some help with tweeting–read more here.

Meme Monday

As we have been communicating, our calendar of events was created to organize our #SaveTaB campaign. Today is “Meme Monday.”

This is your opportunity to create and share memes that get people talking all over social media about TaB. Our goal is to expand the conversation beyond the existing TaB fan community and into our collective culture. Memes are a great way to gain attention from others.

If you’ve never created a meme before, check out meme generator sites such as this to get started. You can use their images, or upload your own.

Of course, when sharing memes, we always want to make sure you’re publicly discussing and tweeting directly on the TheCocaColaCo Facebook, and @mention @CocaColaCo on twitter. And always use the hashtag #SaveTaB.

Important Note: Our calendar ends at the end of December. Starting in January, we are going to have fewer events, and we will be doing a bigger marketing push to encourage everyone to participate in those events. In the meantime, we’d appreciate if you all help our cause by finishing December strong with the daily activities.

Celebrity Allies Needed

We need your help contacting people who could help us.

We’re trying to gain more attention to our cause, and one thing we think will help us is by engaging celebrities and famous people who might be TaB allies.

Our committee has identified a list of people who have some sort of connection to TaB (they were in commercials with it, or drank it in a movie, as an example) and we need your help contacting them (tweeting, Facebook messaging, etc.). We need volunteers to help with this activity.

All it takes is one person with a huge number of followers to retweet something for our cause for it to start to take off.

If you are interested in helping in this effort, please reach out, and we will share the list with you. And if you have found anyone who will engage with you, please share with us!

Another “Write a Letter Wednesday” and Committee Update

Write Letter Wednesday

If you are able to, please write a letter to Coca-Cola today.

Committee Update

In addition, our Committee is meeting 2x each week to discuss a variety of items to continue advancing our cause. Some of what we’ve most recently discussed include:

  • Fundraising–please share our GoFundMe. We are trying to raise funds for advertising our cause.
  • Increasing social media presence–we are working though logistics of setting up social accounts and will officially launch them in the coming weeks.
  • Planning for 2021–we have a simple calendar for the remainder of the year. Starting in 2021, we will take a slightly different approach to the calendar with more focus on big events with lots of promotion (rather than smaller events every single day of the week). More to come on this.

Finally, if you need some words of encouragement that what we are doing can make a difference–take a look at what the Surge Movement was able to accomplish. They brought a discontinued Coca-Cola product once popular in the late 1990s-early 2000s back from the dead. And it’s still available today. How’s that for inspiration? 🙂

Stay strong, friends. We’re just getting started.

Thirsty Thursday

As we communicated in a prior post, our calendar of events was created to organize our #SaveTaB campaign. It helps us keep our tweets and Facebook posts interesting and engaging with different categories each day of the week. Today is “Thirsty Thursday.”

Every Thursday, we ask you to create tweets and posts that show us what you’re drinking, wish you could be drinking, or what you will be drinking if Coca-Cola doesn’t change its mind. If it’s related to drinking something–TaB or otherwise–today’s the day to post. Do you have a favorite TaB cocktail recipe? Tweet about it!

As always, to maximize the impact, make sure your posts are public and are directly on the TheCocaColaCo Facebook wall, and @mention @CocaColaCo on twitter. And always use the hashtag #SaveTaB. Remember, photos make your tweets and posts more engaging.

If you don’t have twitter and/or need some help with tweeting–read more here.

Fundraising Begins

With all worthy causes, it often takes more than hard work to make a difference. We are starting to raise funds to help us advance our cause. We need to raise funds to support advertising and marketing expenses and getting the word out about TaB, our cause, and to gain media attention.

We have launched our first GoFundMe to raise funds for marketing/advertising expenses and hope you’ll consider donating or sharing the GoFundMe with your social circle. Read more here.

Write a Letter (or Postcard) Wednesday

As we communicated in a prior post, our calendar of events was created to organize our #SaveTaB campaign. Today is our second “Write a Letter Wednesday.”

Today, we ask that you all go out of your way to write a letter to Coca-Cola. It can be brief, it can be long–but just write one (or more).

And another idea–if you don’t want to write a letter, how about sending them a postcard (or a few)?

One TaB fan found a bunch of cool vintage postcards at an antique store–and now all of them are addressed to Coca-Cola with a “Save TaB” message handwritten on the back. Do you have a fun idea that will capture their attention? Let us know in the comments.

All letters and postcards should be addressed to:

The Coca-Cola Company
Attn: (enter name of official here, such as James Quincey, CEO)
1 Coca Cola Plz NW
Atlanta, GA 30313

Only One Month Left with TaB – Keep up Your Efforts

As we enter the final month of (a very long) 2020, it’s important to remember if Coca-Cola follows through with its plan to eliminate TaB (which at this point seems to be true), we are in the final days of being able to purchase our beloved soda (where available).

But this is not the time to give up. It is quite the opposite! It’s time to double down on our efforts. If you haven’t been following along and participating in our daily social media campaign categories, please join us! And if you haven’t been writing letters and making phone calls with our “write letter wednesdays,” and “phone call fridays,” join in this week!

And we can always use additional voices. If you know any TaB allies on social media (they don’t have to drink TaB to want to help) who will join us, please share our cause (this is a good place to point them). When we post a new blog post–feel free to share it to get the word out! Each blog post is usually a call to action–so the more people who see it, the better!

In Summary/Closing: It’s December. It’s late in the year, but early in our fight. We are just getting started! If you’re participating in our daily social media topics–THANK YOU! If you aren’t, now is a great time to join us.

We’re in this until we can convince the company to change its mind, or until we have exhausted all options. We’re currently working on additional ideas to make our voices heard–beyond the virtual world of social media. More to come. Stay Strong, and spread the word.

And don’t forget–today’s TaB Tuesday!
