Together we can save TaB!
On October 16, 2020 the Coca-Cola Company announced they would discontinue TaB–their original diet cola–after 57 years of production.
That’s where we come in. We’re TaB drinkers with a purpose. We’re the SaveTaBSoda Committee, and we’re working hard to convince Coca-Cola to reverse its decision to eliminate TaB. Please join us.
We need your help to convince Coca-Cola to bring TaB back.
Best Ways to Help!
The most impactful thing you can do to advance our cause is by helping us increase our numbers. The more of us there are, the more likely the Coca-Cola Company will listen to us.

Would like to keep fighting for Tab! How stupid is Come to have a popular drink they don’t even have to advertise??? The they advertise stupid Diet Coke which is awful as the soda your mom used to drink🙄. Boy they got that wrong!

I’m down to my last 2 12 packs from the load I stockpiled over a year ago. I’m devastated! TaB drinker since I was 12 yrs old and I’m now 54. They need to continue to make it for the diehard TaB fans like myself. Surely we are the last generation. SAVE TAB!!!

I’m so thankful to have found this group. I have been a Tab drinker since I was a kid and have been missing it since it was pulled. Here in Maine it was always difficult to find, but when I would find it – I would buy ad much as I could. I have a picture of the last Tab I ever had (it was right before they announced it was being pulled). I can’t wait to help out this group and hopefully bring some energy to this campaign!

Living in ATL and being a TAB consumer I was amazed they discontinued production.
Former CEO and Chairman of Coca-Cola Roberto Goizuita was a gigantic fan of TAB and was his favorite
beverage they made. Rumor has it that they would never get rid of it. Sadly, Roberto passed away in 1997.

Hi Garry, yes, a change in leadership caused a change to their business for sure. Let’s keep working to help their new leadership understand why TaB is such a standout brand! Been a faithful fan since 1980. Besides us die hard fans, they can appeal to the younger crowd by marketing the retro angle. Surge (yuck) came back, why not Tab? Even if only offered in 2 liter sized. Thanks for all that you do!

Hi Kat, yes, we agree! They could appeal to the younger crowd by advertising the retro angle AND, just simply by 1) making the product available so it’s not hard to find, and 2) adding a simple description to the packaging that explains it’s a cola product with no sugar. Because they didn’t advertise for so many years, younger people have literally no idea what TaB is (they don’t know about the old commercials). Believe it or not…some people think it’s bubble gum flavored soda.

Hoping Coca Cola would bring back TaB or at least allow someone else to bottle it like they did with Dr. Pepper. Down to my last 2 1/2 twelve packs.😢

I’m down to my last 4 cases of TaB, and things are getting dire. We NEED to convince Coke that this product is worth keeping around. I’d even be fine with them releasing periodically, in limited runs. As long as I knew they were coming. It’s just the best cola there is.

Hi Keith, we’re with you! Any TaB is better than no TaB. We’re trying to ask about all possible options. Savor those last four cases!! And make sure you sign our petition at https://www.change.org/savetabsoda!

just a suggestion on our approach to KO. In some circles the rallying of support is supportive to management who likes to posit that they are willing to make “tough” decisions. Let’s work on a way of getting into their concept and finding a way to position return of TaB as something that will be good for both the business and to them personally. I am not sure consumer sentiment will ring a bell. We need something more profound. That being said, this is not a complaint… and I don’t have an answer but will think about it. Let’s reach out to the fans: “HOW WILL THE REINTRODUCTION OF TAB CREATE BENEFIT FOR THE COCA-COLA COMPANY… AND HOW WILL MANAGEMENT HAVE A “WIN” (HAS TO BE MEANINGFUL TO THEM)… ??

Hi Charlie, thanks for the comment! We agree with your sentiment 100%. We’ve been approaching this from multiple angles. We’ve been working to drum up consumer support, all while reaching out to them via letters and e-mails where we’ve listed out the reasons why a TaB comeback would be good for business. So far, it hasn’t worked. If you come up with a profound benefit that would be a no-brainer for Coca-Cola, please let us know! And that’s a good suggestion to crowd-source additional benefits. Maybe the TaB community has some ideas we haven’t thought of!!

What if you were a major soft drink producer with all the infrastructure you need in place to manufacture and sell a boutique product that has a loyal following and would be willing to pay 3 or 4 times the price of any other product you sell? I guess, if you’re Coca Cola, you shut that down. I wonder how much they’re paying their new marketing genius for that plan?

I’ve been drinkingTaB since the 1960″s. As a type 1 diabetic, it was a delicious treat and I never stopped drinking until I had to order it online and the price went up to $30+ for a 12 pack. They don’t have to advertise it. We love it. Just bring it back.

Thanks for your comment, Margaret! We agree! If it came back, there would be a huge frenzy around it, and steady sales after that. Make sure to contact Coca-Cola and let them know about your story.

You sound like some true TaB fans for sure! Lucky you for being able to find so many cases when the announcement was made. And how fortunate that you still have some left! Enjoy it! And make sure to keep contacting Coca-Cola (800.GET.COKE) to let them know you’re looking for some FRESH TaB to replenish your stock.

I am not optimistic Coke will bring back Tab.
Has anyone found another soda (perhabs private label) that is similar to Tab in taste and formula? Thx

Hi Shirley, thanks for reaching out! We remain committed to convincing Coca-Cola to bring TaB back. It is one-of-a-kind, and there’s really no other soda that compares. If you’ve been on the Facebook groups devoted to TaB you’ll see similar sentiment from many. There’s just no other soda out there that tastes like it, unfortunately. Which makes it more important to keep working on Coca-Cola to bring it back!
